Yelp Is Now Disclosing Businesses' Vaccination Policies

Yesterday the review site yelp announced in a blog post that it is adding tools to allow businesses to add their vaccination policies. Information will include whether a business requires its employees to be vaccinated, and whether it will require its customers provide proof of vaccination to be served:

To help consumers understand how a business is currently operating as pandemic guidelines continue to evolve, today, Yelp is announcing two new, free attributes – “Proof of vaccination required” and “All staff fully vaccinated.” Users will be able to filter by these attributes when searching for local businesses on Yelp and will easily see “Proof of vaccination required” indicated on restaurant, food and nightlife businesses in search results.

As we know, the Death Cult can't tolerate any behavior that challenges its flimsy ideology. So, we can count on the whackos to try to punish any business that publishes a vaccination policy.

Yelp intends to cover these businesses, at least as far as reviews on their platform go.  To guard against review bombing they are "putting protective measures in place to proactively safeguard [businesses] from reviews that primarily criticize the COVID health and safety measures they enforce."

Hooray for yelp! Personally, I can't wait for this feature to gain steam and I hope there are at least some bars, restaurants, etc., in my area that require both employees and customers to be vaxxed. It would make me feel comfortable about being inside at these places at a time when Delta is fueling another surge.

I had a look at the yelp site and the filter categories are indeed live.  They can be found by clicking "see all" under the "features" menu on the left after you do a search.  That pops up a menu with the vax selections:

On the app, you click "All Filters" after doing a search and scroll to the bottom under "General."

I did a restaurant search in the Phoenix area and found two places that say all their staff are vaccinated.  There were none here that also required customers to be vaccinated.  In Los Angeles there were nine restaurants that had both requirements.

This is a new thing and hopefully participation will grow as more businesses learn about it. I predict that as vaccination percentages go up businesses will find a market advantage in providing safety assurances for their customers.
