People Sneaking Around to Get Vaccinated is Just Sad and Infuriating

People are packing Lake of the Ozarks recreation facilities, and nobody wears masks—after all, Ozark is krazo spelled backwards.  A bartender named Erin said she's been fine so far, so what is there to worry about?

She thinks people are dying from the vaccine (they're not) and says “personally, I feel like my immune system is doing a good job, so why pump it full of something that we don’t really know what it is?” Erin, we really do know what it is, and it has been proven safe now 348 million times (in the U.S.).

Missouri has the fifth worse infection rate in the country, 346 new cases per 100K on a seven-day average, according to the CDC.  It also has the 12th lowest vaccination rate in the country according to Johns Hopkins.

Some Missourians have decided, wisely, that this is a good reason to go ahead and get vaccinated. The problem is they don't want their friends, neighbors, and family members to find out and harass them.

They are begging their providers to keep their vaccination a secret and are even wearing disguises so people won't spot them. One Missouri healthcare provider has started making appointments for vaccinations in private settings. In a statement they noted that "for some, getting a vaccine may mean losing friendships."

Waaaat?  Losing friendships?!? Getting harassed because you got a shot?

Here's why this is happening, in my humble opinion. Most of these people who are resisting vaccination are extremists who are resisting for political reasons. Of course, they can count on the medical system (which vaccinated people are helping to pay for) to save their bacon if they get really sick—just like it did for their Orange Messiah.

Since serious risk is being mitigated, they can remain ideologically pure. Anyone from their group who gets vaccinated is a defector. They  have cast doubt on the wisdom of The Creed. The Creed can't withstand scrutiny, so the defectors must be hunted down and punished.

This is the saddest, most infuriating thing I've heard in some time. It's another great reason we should make the COVIDiots put their money where their mouths are and assume all financial responsibility for their treatment if they get sick.
