AZ Pandemic Numbers Summary for the Seven Days Ending October 5: Some Increases, Mostly Modest

Here are the Arizona pandemic numbers and graph of statewide cases for the seven day period ending yesterday:
The case, hospitals, and deaths measures increased over the last week but only modestly. The statewide case numbers are at about the same floor we saw back in May.

Maricopa County wastewater measures have started showing up in BioBot so I have included them in the table. Figures are down over the week there and in Mohave County. They are up a little in Pima County and Tempe, and have almost tripled up in Yavapai County. We will see if the translates into any uptick in cases next week.

  It's hard to believe, but it was two years ago today that our moron of a former president took to a news conference to share his awesome ideas about how to combat COVID-19 infections. He suggested we inject the victims with disinfectant, and put "powerful lights" inside their bodies (somehow) to cure them. Here is a  Sarah Cooper mime  of the performance in case you've forgotten how cringe-worthy it was. His poor pandemic expert Dr. Deborah Birx stood next to him, looking on in horror. She has since said that she didn't say anything at the time because her military background taught her to never make her commander look bad in public. Maybe that's a good reason not to have ex-military people in positions like hers. Anti-Mitigation Groups Have Formed a Death Cult

Over the weekend anti-vax protestors showed up at Los Angeles's Dodger Stadium, the largest vaccination site in the country, and staged a protest . Police said the protest was peaceful.  But the fire department closed the entrance to prevent them from moving onto the grounds or getting killed by traffic. In the end they didn't prevent anyone from getting a vaccination who had an appointment, but they did hold up the line for about an hour. In my option, these protestors are very lucky the people waiting in line didn't jump out of their cars and beat them senseless.   You have to wonder what these crackpots thought they would accomplish with their protest. People who are there already accept the truth that vaccines are protective, and don't think COVID-19 is a hoax. Did they think they would win converts?
