Here are the Arizona pandemic numbers for the week ending February 6:


All indicators are heading in the right direction, with dramatic drops from four weeks ago.

Introducing the AZ Vaccination Accelerometer 

This week I introduce a new chart to help keep tabs on how well Arizona is doing getting shots into arms.  It graphs the weekly one-week change in vaccinations reported in the chart above over the past week. The more the line slopes up, the more we're accelerating. Looks like we only accelerated a little over the last week. 

Ten Months to Population Immunity?

Bloomberg has introduced a vaccination tracker that looks helpful. According to the latest data, it will take the United States ten months to hit 75% of the population with two doses. 

New Cases Falling Worldwide

According to data compiled by ourworldindata (they repackage Johns Hopkins data) new cases are falling in all regions of the world that had significant case numbers.

The data table was updated to correct a calculation error in statewide new cases.
